There is so much value yet remain to put in this growing world. Every day we see different organizations and individuals who put their thoughts to make our planet earth a better place. On acknowledging recent events, a climate-strike was led by the youths in different parts of the world. The strike was to aware of our nature and environment, and which by the way continues still. However, the other half of the world has chosen religious harmony as their subject. And decided to create a history in Abu Dhabi by housing a church, mosque, and synagogue at one spot! Finally, the world is thinking of some value!
The Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi, approved by the Higher Committee for the Human Fraternity, will serve as a place for individual worship, plus also inter-religious dialog and exchange. It’s the mission of the superiors to unite people and bring values in them.
The initiative was born out of the visit of Pope Francis to the UAE in February, during which Pope and the Grand Imam of al-Azhar’s, Sheik Ahmed el-Tayeb signed a joint declaration promoting human equality. “We hope that through these homes people of all faiths and from all walks of life can learn and join in a purpose of tranquil peace for generations to come,” Adjaye said.
The complex will be located on Saadiyat Island, near the Abu Dhabi Louver and designed by award-winning architect David Adjaye. The design includes worship spaces for each religion as well as a shared space for collaboration and informal gathering.
