Early in the episode, Archie, Betty, Jughead, and Veronica are having breakfast at a regular place when Archie receives a horror-struck phone call that changes everything. Archie learns about his father’s death news, dropping down his nerves, and with him, Riverdale mourns!

Archie then learns his father aka, Fred had stopped over to help a woman whose car had broken down on the side of the road. While he was fixing her car, a driver hit him and drew off.

I started crying when the casts shed tears on the death of Luke Perry on-screen while also acknowledging Fred (you are not going anywhere our hero). Also, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote the episode, which he explained as, “Probably the most important episode of Riverdale we’ll do this year, if not ever. A tribute to our fallen friend, Fred Andrews.”

It was a deep-emotional moment when Archie runs to get Fred’s truck on the side of the road.

It’s then we know that Shannen Doherty is playing the woman that Fred helped and saved her giving his own life – and these tears from the actress are tragic.

Driving back to Riverdale, Archie learns about the hit-and-run driver and decides to handle things himself. It’s when he storms George, who took the blame for the real person who hit Andrews Fred – his son!

Apart from all the tragic scenes covering Fred’s mystery, everything else is a tribute to his legacy!

Archie delivers a panegyric at Fred’s funeral and speaks about how he “will always be a part of Riverdale,” which is also real for Luke.

Also, Jughead writes a beautiful eulogy that ends up being read by all of the guardians who have escaped town for some reason.
