Lad Saves Doggy From Abusive Father, Leaving Heartbreaking Note For Animal Shelter!

I suggest – get some tissues handy, because though this is undoubtedly an uplifting story, it will surely dishearten you. Because only a couple of weeks ago, a shelter found a cardboard box left at their front door, and in that box – they found a puppy (Rene) awaiting someone to love and hug him, with a heartful note that may even break you into tears.

Yes, animal shelters are well-related with finding unwanted pets left at their doorsteps – because some people sort of like abandoning their pets for various reasons: some people can’t afford to keep them; sometimes a pet doesn’t get along with a new baby or spouse, or some people fancy to have the experience of having a pet in their life only to make themselves feel that they don’t deserve one. Anyway, it’s always sad for volunteers to find a box by the door.

But when the Xollin shelter in Mexico opened a cardboard box, they found more than they ever expected:

Inside the cardboard box – was the American Staffordshire Terrier doggy with a stuffed toy and a heart-touching note that pierced the volunteers’ hearts: He wanted to spare him the wrath of his abusive father.

Translated from Spanish, the note read: “My name is Andrés, and I am 12-years old. My mom and I decided to give my dog in your hands, protecting it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him…”

But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him. I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me.” the boy, Andrés, wrote in the letter.

And as soon as the shelter shared this heart-touching story on the internet, they received more than 300 requests for adopting Rene.

But the shelter was quick enough to mention people it has over 120 puppies that need a welcoming family too.

A volunteer explained that Rene is currently on antibiotics to treat an infection, and his tail has been recovering well.

Anyway, it will take a while before Rene is ready for a new home, though. Xollin shelter wants to make sure he is fully healed, vaccinated, and neutered before finding him a forever loving home.

And no one can calculate what courage it takes for a young kid to make such sort of move! But it likely saved Rene from future pain!
