Well, we love our pets, especially dogs. We hug them, spoil them, and ignore whatever shenanigans they create by phrasing, “You’re a silly boy.” – and we totally mean it from the bottom of our hearts. And because we share such a close bond with our pets, it’s easy to forget that our beloved furry friends are, after all, animals – they howl, growl, and sorry to shed light but, they bite!
Imagine – a kid is pinching a dog, and as we know, dogs can’t speak the human tongue, losing its temperament, can’t handle the pain anymore, when – SNAP! Who is to accuse? People on this Imgur thread exposed the danger of letting your kids mistreat pets at home.
Repeat: ‘Dogs Are Not People And Even The Sweetest Animals Bite’. So, it’s time for dog owners (and proud parents) to grow up and take full responsibility for their kids’ safety.
There are tons of videos online showing kids riding dogs, on which their parents brag like how well their kid and dog get along. And while many parents deem to get a dog for their child as a source of entertainment plus an excellent guardian, Cynology expert Mindaugas Sejunas says it’s the biggest mistake an adult can make because it could effortlessly turn into tragedy.
Mindaugas Sejunas also told a story to justify his point, “There’s a well-known story about a puppy that was left alone with a crying child. Mom gets irritated, shouts at the kid, and leaves the room. After she comes back from the kitchen, she sees her child’s throat torn apart. The dog was put down.”
So, you still think dogs can be excellent pets? Well, I say yes – because as long as you teach your kids that a dog is not a toy, and show them how to treat a dog and not mistreat or disturb them while they sleep or eat, as it might make them angry – everything is alright.
Remember, mutual respect and understanding is the key, and because humans are the most brilliant animals here – it is our duty to call for the action first.
